🎺 THE RECAP: Virtuosity and Community
The past weekend at the SFJAZZ Center was a showcase of international mastery and local brilliance. We witnessed the incredible 10-string bandolin work of Hamilton de Holanda in his Miner Auditorium debut, followed by the powerhouse double-bill of Melissa Aldana and Taylor Eigsti, whose "homecoming" set reminded us why they are two of the most significant voices in modern jazz. We closed the week with the SMARTBOMB Open House, a vibrant takeover that brought the experimental sounds of Braxton Cook, Kiefer, and Josh Johnson to a wide-reaching community audience.
🏛️ THE SPOTLIGHT: An Intimate Takeover of the Lab
While Miner Auditorium takes a brief breath, the Joe Henderson Lab becomes the city's creative epicenter this week with a series of deep-dive performances.
